Exotic the Way You've Always Wanted to Experience It

Welcome to the adventure of a lifetime. Erupting volcanoes, jungle, rainforest, thousands of species of flora and fauna still undiscovered, luxury accommodations, gourmet cooking, and of course, heart-pumping adrenaline-filled days of rafting, surfing, scuba diving, horseback riding, zip-lining, climbing, sailing, and enough trekking and exploring to satisfy even the most insatiable appetites for adventure. You're going to have a blast.

Costa is a great venue to stage an amazing winter or spring retreat for your yogis, martial artists, personal training clients, and organization leaders. It strikes a balance between personal relaxation time and strenuous outdoor activities which allow participants to both fully engage, and later recuperate.  Every outing can be completed by everyone, regardless of physical ability, and encourages participants to constructively interact with each other. Most outings take up half the day, which allows participants time to explore on their own, take in, process, enjoy the scenery, their company, and immerse in the natural lifestyle..

Packages include transportation to and from airport and to all activities, 3, 4 or 5-star accommodations in remote and exotic locations, local mountain guides, yoga, fitness and meditation instructors, on-site cleaning and maintenance staff, admission fees to all parks, hot springs, and events, safety equipment, gourmet food, wine with dinner, and custom-tailored activities.

Day 1 Summit Volcano Barva

Start the week off right. After spending the night at our first base, in the exotic wilderness of Costa Rica's jungle forests, you are whisked away to trek the mountainous region of Costa to summit the dormant Barva Volcano. You hike through jungle to attain three of its four pyroclastic cone summits, and swim in the crater lake inside the final cone.

The views will be spectacular. Don’t forget your camera! In the evening, you make a fire, get acquainted with the group, and enjoy a healthy feast among new friends.

Day 2 Baldi Volcanic Hot Springs

Spend the day relaxing from yesterday's hike in one of the country's most beautiful volcano-powered hot springs. Heated water actually holds more dissolved solids than cool water - this is why hot springs are known for their healing properties as you soak in water with an extraordinarily high mineral content. The hot springs contain everything from simple calcium to sulfur, lithium, and even radium. Cool pools lie adjacent to warm pools, allowing you to cool down or heat up as you please.  Relax and energize. Soothe your body and stimulate your senses.

Drive into Arenal National in the evening to watch the active Volcano's awesome display of power in a production of natural fireworks.

Day 3 Trekking Sky Bridges in Cloud Forest

From Fortuna, trek on horseback, boat, and 4WD vehicles to find the tiny community of Monteverde, and Santa Elena, its feeder town. Monteverde Cloud Forest Biological Reserve is one of the most stunning and breathtaking nature reserves in the entire world. While cloud forests receive much less rainfall than rainforests, their higher altitude allows the flora to take advantage of the higher humidity. This biological reserve sits at an elevation of between 1,200 m to 1,600 m, and is surrounded by a misty cloud cover that is home to more than 2,000 species of plants, 100 species of mammals, 1,200 species of reptiles, and over 400 species of birds.

Find yourself in a surreal environment that is simultaneously wildlife sanctuary and an explorer's dream.

Day 4 SCUBA Dive in the Osa Peninsula

You're going to Drake Bay, a tiny town by the bay which is actually one of the most inaccessible places in the entire country. It was first discovered by Sir Francis Drake in 1579 during his circumnavigation of the globe. It not only has the tallest primary rainforest on the planet, it also happens to be situated near our dive site: the biological reserve of the Isla del Caño, which offers some of the best scuba diving in Costa Rica.

Caño has near perfect diving conditions year round, and is home to 18 species of coral, 3 species of dolphin and 57 different species of crustaceans. You get to spend all day on this tiny island, which happens to be the ultimate diving spot.

Day 5 Hot Air Ballooning Volcano Country

Time to let it all go - fear, doubt, and disbelief. Free your soul, your mind, your spirit. Fly above it all.

Soar through unquestionably the most fascinating terrain in the world — low and slow drifting, over rainforests, mountain villages, caress the tops of giants trees, dip into white water rivers, and chase monkeys in the tree-tops. And given the right climatic conditions, ascend to watch awesome Arenal volcano erupting above its halo of clouds.

Day 6 Tabacon Volcanic Hot Springs

Take a day to relax, enjoy unlimited yoga, massages, and all the hot springs your body can soak up. The Tabacon experience begins in a secluded rainforest with spectacular Arenal volcano  set in the backdrop. Pools are strategically located along tropical garden walking trails, which provide a relaxing break from the exploration of the flowers, plants, and regular wildlife sightings. There are also three cascading thermal waterfalls which provide relaxation and natural hydrotherapy for sore or tight back and neck muscles. Soothe and relax after our last 5 days outdoors, find the perfect ambiance and clarity for meditation and yoga, and leave with an unforgettable experience.

Day 7 Explore Nosara... Darwin-Style

One of Costa Rica’s best kept secrets, Playa Nosara is a hidden paradise. Comprised of Playa Nosara, Playa Guiones, Playa Pelada, and Playa Ostional, together they make up the Ostional Wildlife Refuge, where every year hundreds of thousands of Olive Ridley sea turtles come to lay their eggs.

After saying 'hi' to the turtles, we head north to Playa Nosara's neighboring tropical forest to enjoy its vast variety of animals and birds, and finally setting down to watch the sunset on a beautiful black sand beach in one of Costa Rica’s most diverse ecological environments.

Surf & Beach in Manuel Antonio National

Your last day. You've hiked the jungles, went swimming in volcanic crater lakes, soaked in mineral hot springs, ballooned over active volcanoes, and are now the happiest camper in the world. You deserve a break.

Start the day with yoga on the beach. After breakfast, you grab a surf board, and head out to the waters of Manuel Antonio National Park to crush the waves. In between sessions you climb the peninsula rock, work on your tan, and enjoy the fresh rainforest air. It's been quite a journey, and you have lots of new pictures to post on Facebook, for your fan club of virtual admirers...
