Embrace the Natural

Welcome your group to the breathtaking Colorado Rocky Mountains. We will be your guides as we take you and them on an adventure of a lifetime!

This sample itinerary is a great starting point for yogis, martial artists, personal training clients, and leadership development programs. It strikes a balance between personal relaxation time and strenuous outdoor activities which allow participants to both fully engage, and later recuperate.  Every outing can be completed by everyone, regardless of physical ability, and encourages participants to constructively interact with each other. Most outings take up half the day, which allows participants time to explore on their own, take in, process, enjoy the scenery, their company, and immerse in the natural lifestyle.

Packages include transportation to and from airport and all activities, admission fees, 3, 4 or 5 star accommodations, gourmet cooking, wine with dinner, yoga & fitness instructors, local mountain guides, massage therapists, safety equipment, and custom-tailored activities.

Day 1 Ride Along the Arkansas River

Start the week off right. You're picked up at the Meet Point at 6am, and whisked away to ride off into the Colorado wilderness along the Arkansas River. You will ride through open meadows, up and down hills of tall Ponderosa pine trees, and through valleys of Colorado’s famous Aspen trees. You will parallel the majestic Chalk Cliffs on Mt. Princeton and ride up to the Colorado Trail. Experienced riders will be able to ride on a portion of the Colorado Trial overlooking the valley that goes to Saint Elmo, one of Colorado's most preserved ghost towns. The views will be spectacular. Don’t forget your camera! In the evening, you make a fire, get acquainted with the group, and enjoy a healthy feast among friends.

Day 2 Hike Canyon Loop Trail

You will weave through the expansive Betasso Preserve along the Canyon Loop Trail, through more than 700 acres of open meadows and forested ravines between Fourmile Canyon and Boulder Canyon. Here you will enjoy great views, an abundance of wildlife, and the potential for solitude. Smell the roses... or rather the vanilla. Half the trail passes through thick Douglas-fir on north-facing slopes, shaded by vanilla-scented Ponderosa pines and striking Rocky Mountain junipers. Take in the sights. Lunch at the summit. Breath in the fresh mountain air!

Day 3 Rainbow Hot Springs

You hike up to a small streamside pool in the wilderness starting from Pagosa Springs. The area is undeveloped, except for the rocks piled to make a pool below the springs. Rainbow Hot Springs spouts from a crease in the solid rock about 15 feet above the West Fork of the San Juan River. It is a delicious temperature for soaking in summertime, and will serve nicely as a place to sooth those aching muscles after hiking through the Rockies. Soak in the pools, then splash into the cold river nearby for a heart-thumping moment, and then leap back into the soothing warmth. No sleepy nerve cells after that!  From your protected river hot pot you can enjoy crisp, fresh air and green trees all around you, with the roaring stream filling your ears with water music.

Day 4 Raft Brown's Canyon

You're going to raft 10 miles through Brown’s Canyon on the Arkansas River, just north of Buena Vista. Together with the rest of the crew in your boat, you will work to negotiate the Class III rapids in the Brown's Canyon wilderness. You will enjoy a mix of both exhilarating whitewater rafting and the majestic views of the granite canyon.

Day 5 Valley View Hot Springs

Time to leave the puritan roots and find your way to a secluded naturist development with pools in a wooded area. Enjoy the pools and the sauna in an isolated, and natural setting. You will be surrounded by the scenic San Luis Valley, crouched on the western doorstep of the exquisite Sangre De Cristo Mountains. Sit back, relax, and be transported back in time to when things were less crowded, less complex, and less rushed. Before you leave Valley View Hot Springs, you will believe it is a special place. Though not a style for everyone, it is perhaps in one of the prettiest Colorado settings, and home to various non-traditional personality types.

Day 6 Glacier Gorge

Make sure to get plenty of rest, because we start by getting up early, eating breakfast, and leaving to tackle Glacier Gorge. By some accounts, this is the most beautiful spot in Rocky Mountain National Park. Along the way, you will find spectacular scenery, beautiful wildflowers, cascading waterfalls, and beautiful alpine lakes. You'll climb up and down the rock shelves along Black Lake, finally reaching an open area with breath-taking views. Here we will stop for lunch, explore, and take in the sights. The way back is really the best time to take in the sights because now you'll be heading downhill the same 1,600 feet you gained hiking up in the morning. You'll also get to start thinking about the BBQ feast waiting for you back at the lodge.

Day 7 Climb Arapaho National

Your last day. You've hiked the wild, climbed mountains, soaked in sulfur and lithium pits, and are now the happiest camper in the world. You deserve a break. Instead, you trek deep into Arapaho National where you find beauty often overlooked because of its more popular neighbor, the Rocky Mountain National Park. The scenery here is just as stunning and the wildlife almost as plentiful. The day is yours to delve into the climbing experience of a lifetime, with unparalleled 360 views from every pitch.

Day 8 Chasm Lake

Today, you hike up to 11,800 feet above sea level to Chasm Lake, which lies nestled in a rocky alpine cirque below the towering summits of Longs Peak (14,255 feet) and Mount Meeker (13,911 feet), the two highest summits in Rocky Mountain National Park. The cirque is absolutely stunning and is one of the most beautiful spots in all of Colorado.

Day 9 Mount Princeton Hot Springs

Relax from yesterday's hike, and soak in creekside hot mineral pools. Enjoy some of the hottest water in the State of Colorado - it gets up to 105 degrees. The area is home to some of the most scenic mountain country to be found. Nearby, the Collegiate Peaks and more than a dozen others honor you with impressive elevations between 13,000 feet and 14,000 feet or more. The Mount Princeton Hot Springs has been in operation for over a hundred years, and has seen the rise and fall of booming mining towns with grand mansions, and abandoned ghost towns. But one thing has remained constant: the clear hot water. Take in the sights, and soak your bones.

Day 10 ATV in Colorado State Forest

You trek out to the Colorado State Forest Area Campgrounds, where you find the beauty of the Colorado State Forest, which is often overlooked because of its more popular neighbor, Rocky Mountain National Park. Yet the scenery here is just as stunning and the wildlife almost as plentiful. The only things lacking are the bumper-to-bumper crowds you’ll find at Rocky Mountain. The day is yours to delve into hiking, biking, fishing, and four-wheel driving. For the more adventurous, there are some great climbing routes. Exhausted from the day's activities, we make camp. After we set up tents and make a fire, you enjoy an outdoor feast among the stars.

Day 11 Wake up in the Wild

Wake up to a sunrise over the mountains, and watch the amazing colors move across from the sky to mountains to the tree tops. You have the whole day to yourself. If you ran out of time to 4-wheel yesterday, you can pick up right where you left off. Same goes for fishing, biking, and climbing. Maybe you just want to find a secluded, beautiful spot to paint a picture? It's all good. Gather back for a feast by the fire, and enjoy your last night among new friends out in the wilderness.

Day 12 Bike Monarch Crest

Epic is the only word for if. Monarch Crest Trail is considered the premier mountain bike ride in the entire 14ers region. Touted by Bicycle Magazine as one of the top five rides in the United States, the trail covers roughly 40 miles of descending single-track over tundra-like terrain, across talus fields, through old-growth forests and high-plains desert. This ride is one not to be missed, an impressive addition to anyone's mountain biking resume.
